  • Q: Can I bring my own food?

    A:  YES! Bring your own coolers with your food of choice, we even have grills on board both vessels should you want to grill. Please inform us ahead of time if you would like to use a grill.

  • Q: Is alcohol allowed?

    A: Yes, but Captain and Crew will monitor for consumption. No one under 21 will be allowed to drink.(please no red wine or fruit punch drinks)

  • Q: Is smoking allowed?

    A: No smoking is allowed on either vessel and we have a ZERO tolerance policy for illegal substances that U.S. Coast Guard strictly adheres to. Charter will terminate and no refunds will be offered. 

  • Q: What if weather is bad the day of my charter?

    A: The 30 Fathom Charter crew constantly monitors weather patterns for safety. We will determine 1-2 days before if we need to reschedule your charter or refund your deposit. 

  • Q: Where do we board boat?

    A: There is plenty of free parking at Cashman Park, Sally Snyder Way, Newburyport, MA. We will be ready for you at the boat dock.

  • Q: Do we get to keep the fish we catch?

    A: YES! You can keep any fish of legal size and season. The Captain will let you know during the charter. He will also filet and bag the fish for you. 

  • Q: How many people are allowed during charters?

    A: For fishing we find that 4 anglers is best for optimal experience, if you’d like more than please discuss with 30 Fathom Charters crew prior to charter. For any other cruises you may have up to 6 people in your party.

  • Q: Will life preservers be provided?

    A: Yes, we are equipped with all safety gear as required by U.S. Coast Guard regulations. If you have children in your group we recommend you bring a life preserver that is right for their individual size.

  • Q: Do we need to bring our own gear?

    No, we are fully equipped with all the various rods, reels and multiple types of baits that will be used during your charter.  We also include all licenses for Massachusetts and NH waters.

  • Q: Can we bring or own gear?

    A: On a case-by-case basis. The captain will review with you prior to charter. We are not liable for any damage to your gear while on charter. 

  • Q: How long are charters?

    A: The type of charter you choose will determine its duration. Inshore charters are generally 4 hours long. Offshore is between 8-10 hours. Sunset cruises in the Merrimac River are 2 hours long. Custom cruises/charters vary in length.
